Is choosing curtain fabric too hard? We have the solution.
For many people, the home office doubles as a guest room and if you are looking for curtains, it can be tricky to choose a fabric that looks good for both uses. If this is your window dilemma, we have an unconventional and very cost-effective suggestion for you. Ditch the curtain fabric and simply hang a blockout curtain behind a stylish sheer curtain!

How does it work?
When it comes to curtains and daytime privacy, we typically install sheer curtains closest to the window and a separate, statement curtain with lining in front. This works really well for single use rooms and if you know the look, colours and fabric you want in the room.
But in rooms that need to be multi-functional, making the sheer fabric the feature means you have a neutral curtain in front with simple blockout lining behind that can be drawn when privacy is important.
To achieve the look while minimising light loss, we install a separate track for the blockout lining fabric and construct the curtain so it stacks tightly to the side. Then we add something like a box pleat at the top of the sheer curtain to give it a polished, attractive finish. It’s a modern, casual alternative that is really budget friendly and looks divine.

Sheer fabrics have come a long way
These days, sheer fabrics come a wide variety of designs. While white sheers are definitely popular, you can now select coloured, patterned and textured sheer fabrics to complement any room.
